How to Extract Messages From WhatsApp Backup File on Android or iPhone Using WhatsApp Viewer

Whatsapp viewer is a simple forensic tool. It gives the access to whatsapp chat directly from sqlite databases, even from encrypted databases.

- If you use WhatsApp on an Android device, the WhatsApp database backup file is :

/sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases/msgstore.db.crypt

/data/data/com.whatsapp/files/key

- If you use WhatsApp on iPhone, the WhatsApp backup file is :

net.whatsapp.WhatsApp/Documents/ChatStorage.sqlite

- Android msgstore.db

- Android backup msgstore.db.crypt

- Android backup msgstore.db.crypt7 (with key file)

- Android backup msgstore.db.crypt8 (with key file)

- IOS ChatStorage.sqlite
